Swimming facilities and water parks attract customers not only with their attractions, but also with the quality of the equipment available during training, classes and fun in the water. Chełm Water Park is one of the most modern facilities in eastern Poland, using AQUA SPEED equipment to create an attractive offer for water lovers of all ages – from the youngest to the oldest! Our guide around the complex is Małgorzata Dulska.
In Poland, swimming and water activities are a very popular way of spending time and taking care of one’s health. How does it look in your case – do you have more customers who train and exercise, or those who come to relax and have fun in the water?
What do customers enjoy at Chełm Water Park?
Sport and fun, activity and relaxation – these are words that complement each other. After training and exercise, our customers love to relax, and those who originally came just to have fun in the water also end up being physically active, even if they didn’t plan on it. The close proximity of recreational and sports pools, as well as full access to swimming equipment, naturally makes this possible.
So we can safely say – with a wink – that all our customers both train and exercise, while also relaxing and having fun in the water.
On a more serious note: we believe that a love for water starts with play, which often leads to a desire to learn to swim and then… it’s just one step away from regular exercise and training.
Who are the customers of Chełm Water Park?
Chełm Water Park was created because 95% of respondents in a survey conducted before the investment expressed the need for such a place. That’s an amazing result! Do you actually see such high interest in the park’s offer? Who uses it more often – young people or seniors?
Chełm Water Park is one of the most modern facilities of its kind in eastern Poland. It’s a place where everyone can enjoy their visit – from the youngest, just a few months old, through people in their prime, all the way to seniors.
It’s hard to clearly say who uses our water park more often. We offer a range of promotions – something fun for everyone. This means we have a truly diverse group of customers. We offer, among other things:
- a daily promotion for seniors – until 3:00 p.m. special prices apply for people over 60
- Evening Swimming every day after 8:00 p.m., which attracts younger visitors
- Preschooler and Nursery Saturdays – time for a parent with a child
- Student Wednesdays, which are attractive for students
- Lazy Mondays, which let everyone lounge a bit longer in the pools
In-house team of instructors – top quality!
Do you run classes with your own specialists, coaches and instructors, or do you also work with swim schools and independent instructors?
At Chełm Water Park, our Swimming Academy and competitive Swimming Club are very active. Classes for nearly 400 Academy participants and training sessions for 40 Club members take place every day.
We also run classes for little ones from 6 months of age – Aqua Baby. That’s where the colourful equipment – pink and yellow kickboards – brings the children so much joy.
We are also one of the few facilities in Poland to offer professional Stroke Swimming Courses. Our offer includes courses in breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle and butterfly. Interest in the Stroke Swimming Courses is huge.
We have our own highly committed swimming instructors, who are a key part of this success. Together we created the offer of the swimming school, the swimming courses and launched the swimming club. The instructors take care of both the quality and attractiveness of the classes.
All those who are learning to swim or improving their technique use AQUA SPEED equipment, which we received as part of the Benefit Club Programme.
Chełm Water Park and accessibility
Please tell us about your offer for people with special needs, e.g. people with disabilities – this is a very important customer group. The same goes for infants – demand for this type of activity is growing. How have you prepared the park for such demanding customers?
Chełm Water Park is fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. Discounts are available for these customers. On a daily basis, we observe strong interest from this group – they visit us regularly with their caregivers and physiotherapists. Our services are also frequently used by participants of Occupational Therapy Workshops, Community Care Homes and special schools.
As we’ve mentioned, our guests also include infants just a few months old. For them, we offer Aqua Baby classes as part of our Swimming Academy. We also have a special Toddler Zone with small slides, water cannons and a fountain. We love children, the lively buzz and the joy they bring with them.
Aqua aerobics, sauna and ice baths at Chełm Water Park
You offer a very wide range of classes and activities. Aqua aerobics has also been a big hit in recent years and requires suitable equipment. Is this equipment available in the park and can instructors use it during classes?
At Chełm Water Park, aqua aerobics is led by the best instructor (Marta Dumin – pictured), who is a brand in herself in our city. Classes are held regularly every Tuesday and Thursday – they always draw crowds. AQUA SPEED equipment works perfectly during these water workouts.
Where did the idea for the barrels with ice-cold water come from? Is it a response to the growing interest in ice swimming and winter dips, also in Chełm?
The barrels with ice-cold water are part of our Sauna Zone. They are mainly used for cooling the body down after a sauna session. Indeed, for some guests it sparks the desire to jump into even colder water and start their adventure with winter swimming.
And our Sauna Zone is truly a unique place. The complex consists of four saunas – a bio sauna, a Russian banya, a Finnish sauna and a steam room. This area also includes a cooling zone with an ice grotto and cold-water barrels, as well as a relaxation zone with a jacuzzi and a brine graduation tower. In the bio sauna we hold sauna ceremonies – special sauna rituals known as sessions. During these, sauna masters, in time with the music, use fans, towels or bundles of tree twigs to circulate the hot, scented air with essential oils, bringing guests into deep relaxation and unwind.
Plans for the future and further development for tourists and locals
What are the development plans for Chełm Water Park for the coming years? Can we expect new attractions or projects that will attract residents and tourists even more?
The greatest joy for our Park are our Guests – the cheerful crowd that brings an atmosphere of relaxation and genuine enjoyment to every Zone. Everyone is important to us – from the youngest, just a few months old, through people in their prime, all the way to seniors. We offer attractions for each of these groups, of course depending on their needs and abilities. We want our guests to feel cared for at Chełm Water Park from the moment they walk in until they leave – and even longer, until their next visit.
We know that everyone needs new stimuli and experiences, especially when it comes to recreation and sport, so we are constantly thinking about how to make our offer more attractive, to satisfy our Guests and make them want to come more often and stay longer.
In the near future, we want to focus on enhancing the sauna area, which is enjoying steadily growing interest from both residents and tourists.
Our dream is a rooftop sauna with a spacious terrace overlooking the panorama of Chełm. It’s an investment we and our guests are eagerly looking forward to – our shared dream. At the moment it may seem a bit unrealistic, but as Mark Twain said, “Dreams are there to be fulfilled.” And the first step towards making them come true is to say them out loud…
